The veil torn
“And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom.”
Matthew 27:50–51; Hebrews 10:19–22
One man, one day a year, with blood and trembling — that was the arrangement for entering the holy of holies. The veil was a closed door with a very specific message.
At the moment Jesus dies, that curtain rips. And the detail Matthew includes matters enormously: from the top down. Nobody reached up and tore it. It was opened from God's side.
Hebrews spells out the result: we now have boldness to enter. Not permission granted grudgingly — boldness.
The priesthood question is finally answered. Jesus is the priest, and because of Him, so are you.

The door between God and people was opened from God's side. You don't have to negotiate your way in.
